Antifreeze

Many people add only water to their coolant system as a cheap and easy way to keep the vehicle operational. The problem is that water freezes at a much higher temperature than antifreeze. If the water in the system freezes, it can cause major problems. The vehicle won't start and it can crack your radiator, which can be very costly. A little bit of maintenance now can save you time and money in the long run.

Tires

Worn tires preform very poorly in wintery weather. They can cause sliding, skidding and generally unsafe conditions. Try this. Take a penny and put it in the tread of your tires with heads facing you. If you can read the date, it may be time to replace them.

Heat

Just turn it on and see if it works. It is never good to find out it doesn't work on a cold morning.
